Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it (1 Cor. 9:24)(ESV).

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  I began this blog very, very slowly in July ’13 and am actually a little surprised that, as 2017 begins, I am still at it. I thank you for checking out my site and hope you find something of value during your visit.  My intention has always been to write mainly about evangelical topics from the perspective of the Southern Baptist tradition. I may occasionally touch on other issues, but my whole purpose for starting this blog was to be another (albeit small) beacon of light in a dark world and to hopefully:

a) stimulate conversation and thought leading to the growth of the Kingdom of God

b) discuss ideas for practical Christian living in the modern world.

My hope is to go wherever the Lord leads me in this endeavor.

I am currently active duty military with 25 years of service and my family and I have been blessed to live in many wonderful places during our tours of duty but my true home will always be Arkansas! We currently reside in the metro DC area where we are active members of our church.  I enjoy spending time with family and friends, serving as needed throughout the church, coaching Upward Sports, reading, running, and sleeping (yes, I really enjoy sleeping and consider it a hobby).

As far as educational background, it is sort of here and there (jack of some trades but master of none). My military career has led me to change directions along the way and I have ended up with a little training in Electronics, Business , Political Science, and Theology. This last degree program was truly a labor of love and my time at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Graduate School was an amazing experience that has aided me in my walk with Jesus. It is out of this course of study that I became interested in blogging with the primary purpose of sharing the love of Christ and I would greatly appreciate your prayers as I continue this ministry.

The opinions I express here are my own and not reflective of any organization with which I may be affiliated.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy your visit!

  1. Hi! I am your brother Ross’ pharmacy manager at Walgreens and he introduced me to your blog last year! I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy all of your blog posts. I tell Ross all the time but he says he always forgets to mention it to you, so I thought I would just leave you a comment :).

    • Michelle,

Thanks so much! I’m really glad that you enjoy them and it’s super cool that you found the blog through Ross! It’s not much and I really don’t have the time I would like to devote to it but I just pray that it shines a little light. Thank you for the kind words and please stay in touch!
