Embracing Our Brokenness

In Rembrandt’s Return of the Prodigal Son, contrast the shameful, broken, humble dependence of the younger son with the self-assured, judgmental, arrogant condescension of the elder.

What a vivid illustration of the right and wrong ways to approach and relate with our Father (and to live out our Christian lives).

This is something I really, really need to remind myself of daily…

For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Cor. 12:10)(ESV).
