Greener Grass

The only greener grass is on the other side of the cross.

We will never be content until we find the One who placed that God-shaped hole in our heart.

The apostle Paul learned long ago that a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, his risen Savior, was the answer to finding contentment in this life, no matter the circumstance.

Sharing this amazing message with the Philippian church, he said “for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Phil. 4:11-13)(ESV).

Jesus Christ created us, showed his great love for us by dying on the cross for our sins, and now calls us into an authentic and personal relationship, that we may experience the fulfilling life we were always meant to lead.

While the world around us constantly changes and gives us mixed messages about meaning and purpose, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Heb. 13:8). May we all find his unchanging truth and learn to be content with God’s faithful provision.

  1. Peace and contentment is a mark of a true Christian believer. It is an outward response of Christ within — and usually the Lord allows our light to shine the brightest while being placed in difficult life circumstances. That’s the wisdom of God! Good post.
